The French Group has been retained by a highly reputable health plan to recruit for this newly created strategic position. The Senior Medical Director reports to the VP Medical Operations, an extremely talented and universally highly respected physician executive with an engaging personality and an inclusive, empowering leadership style. This position may be based in Jacksonville, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Pensacola or Orlando.
POSITION SUMMARY
In collaboration with other members of the leadership team, the Senior Medical Director of the Senior Business Unit will be responsible for the oversight and development of the overarching clinical strategy for Florida Blues Medicare Product. This position will include serving as an external clinical face for the organization, as well as an internal clinical face to other units within the Enterprise. The goal is to build and promote strong synergies with Public Policy, Sales, Marketing, Product, and related business units. Entrepreneurial and innovative abilities are essential for this position to help enable the company to navigate through current change in the health care industry.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE DESIRED
This is a visible and strategic position requiring exceptional leadership skills and substantial experience as a managed care physician executive. The Senior Medical Director is a critical medical and business leader and contact for external providers, plan sponsors, and regulatory agencies; thus requiring superior interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills. The Senior Medical Director must have extensive Medicare Advantage and risk contracting experience. The successful candidate will also have an understanding of medical analytics and reporting along with a comfort level working with medical economic data.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
-M.D. or D.O. with active, unrestricted medical license with the ability to obtain Florida Me
