The French Group has been retained by a highly respected, locally-owned and operated health plan in Central Virginia to recruit its first full time medical director. Founded in 1995, Piedmont Community Health Plan is one of the fastest growing health plans in the region. Piedmonts provider network includes more than 98 percent of the areas providers.
The Medical Director will report to the CEO, a seasoned health plan executive with an approachable, inclusive management style and an exceptionally kind demeanor. The Medical Director will be responsible for providing medical expertise and guidance for the development, implementation and operation of all aspects of Piedmonts business. This is an intriguing and multifaceted role that will include QI, credentialing, contracting, care management, policy development and strategic initiatives. This position would be ideal for an experienced health plan medical director who desires less bureaucracy and a more collegial relationship with the providers.
Education Requirements:
-M.D. or D.O. with active, unrestricted medical license with the ability to obtain Virginia Medical Licensure
-Current Board Certification in an ABMS recognized specialty, primary care preferred
-MBA, MPH, MHS, MHA, etc. preferred
