Serves as the expert Medical Director for Sales, Healthcare Consulting and Customers including customer- facing engagements effectively representing healthcare and provider network services and capabilities. The Medical Director represents the health plan to other external groups as needed by the enterprise (e.g. providers and community groups) and is responsible for developing strategic partnerships with internal business partners and external clients. The Medical Director is responsible for the development, ongoing refinement and execution of the Care and Network sales strategy designed to compliment sales and marketing efforts to grow membership through new sales and increased retention. In addition, the Medical Director will lead and manage a team to provide sales support, group analytics and consulting for health plan decision-makers so they can better manage health care costs and improve the health of employees.
This is a highly visible position requiring exceptional leadership skills and substantial experience as a physician executive. The Medical Director is a critical medical and business leader; thus requiring superior interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills. The Medical Director must have at least 5 years leadership experience in healthcare clinical consulting/sales/development environment and/or health plan consulting.
The successful candidate will also have demonstrated success with outstanding sales and/or consulting results; account management or customer relationship management experience preferred.
MD or DO with active, unrestricted medical license
Current Board Certification in an ABMS recognized specialty, primary care preferred
Graduate degree or equivalent in healthcare management, finance or leadership, eg MBA, MPH, MHS, MHA preferred
