CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER – LOUISVILLE KY

The French Group has been retained by one of the nation’s leading diversified health care benefits companies to recruit a strategic Chief Medical Officer.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Chief Medical Officer is responsible for leadership of strategic medical management activities which contribute to market performance and promote quality of care. These responsibilities include development and implementation of medical programs/policies; enhancing relationships with providers, plan sponsors and regulatory agencies and serving as a key business partner in network development, product design, strategic planning and sales support.

The CMO will have overall responsibility for a team of five Medical Directors, Care Management and Behavioral Health staff thus requiring exceptional leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and staff development.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE DESIRED
This is a highly visible and strategic position requiring significant experience as a managed care physician executive, preferably in the government sector. The CMO is a critical business leader and contact for external providers, plan sponsors, and regulatory agencies; thus requiring superior interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills.

• M.D. or D.O. with active, unrestricted Kentucky medical license
• Current Board Certification in a recognized specialty including post-graduate direct patient care experience. Advanced degree in business or public health desirable.
• 5+ years in healthcare delivery system required with 4+ years additional leadership and management experience in managed care
• Commitment to and experience with underserved populations, Medicaid, Medicare, Duals
