We
work collaboratively with all clients to develop an understanding
of each organizations culture, structure, goals and
expectations as well as the personalities, background and
management styles of the executive team. We assist our client
to form a search committee and reach a consensus in defining
the challenges and responsibilities of the position as well
as the qualifications and characteristics required of the
incoming executive. The position profile and the customized
search plan are then developed and approved by the client
prior to initiating the search.
RESEARCH,
NETWORKING AND RECRUITMENT
We
exclusively place health care and non-profit executives; therefore,
the time required to identify qualified candidates is dramatically
less than other search firms. We have built an extensive database
of a diverse pool of experienced executives. We routinely
lecture for several national trade associations, providing
us another forum to meet candidates who are serious about
enhancing their leadership skills. This constant exposure
to talented executives enables us to develop lasting and trusting
relationships, which further hones our networking abilities.
We rely upon personal recommendations as opposed to mass mailings
to source additional candidates. We find that the caliber
of candidates is higher when referred to us by trusted industry
professionals.
CANDIDATE
QUALIFICATION AND PRESENTATION
Each client is assigned an executive search consultant who
is personally responsible for each facet of the search process.
We do not employ research associates as we view each and every
interaction with the candidate a source of valuable information.
Initially, all potential candidates are interviewed telephonically.
We then narrow the long list of potential candidates to those
who meet the approved position profile prior to submission
to our client. We perform extensive biographical and behavioral
interviews following EEOC guidelines. When appropriate, we
also interview the spouse to determine his/her willingness
to relocate to the required location. The short list is honed
to four or five finalists. Resumes, profiles and an interview
summary of each finalist are then reviewed with the client.
Detailed verbatim references, tailored to address the specific
challenges of the position, are submitted for all candidates
interviewed onsite by the client. We also verify the candidates
credentials (education, licensure and board certification)
when requested. Our consultants provide weekly progress reports
throughout the entire executive search process in order to
ensure that the search process is on track and meeting the
needs of the client.
SCHEDULE
INTERVIEWS
We work closely with the client to arrange all the particulars
(i.e., agenda, travel arrangements, lodging, directions) to
ensure a seamless interview process. At our clients
request, our consultants will participate in the on site candidate
interviews with our client. We will debrief candidates and
our client after all interviews. All candidates are apprised
of their status and provided constructive feedback.
FINAL
SELECTION, NEGOTIATION AND FOLLOW UP
We create custom tools and matrices to assist in the evaluation
and final selection of the candidates. When requested, we
will act as an intermediary with the presentation of the offer
and any subsequent negotiations. We also counsel the selected
candidate on counteroffers and coach him/her in resigning
from their current position.
To insure seamless integration, we maintain contact with both
client and successful candidate (and family) to provide support
and assistance during the transition period.
We are also available, and welcome the opportunity, to serve
in the capacity as liaison throughout the tenure of the successful
candidate if the need arises.
